baught a motor thats been sitting

i baught a 88 rx7 non turbo motor thats been sitting for a few years. i know its a bad idea but it comes with a warranty 90 days. what should i do before i install it and try to start it. if it was a normal engine i would squirt oil in the cylinders and turn it over by hand. what should i do with the rotary.

check the faq section. I believe there is procedures for motor that has been sitting or car that has been stored for a while

You should probably do a full rebuild before you install it and try to start it, but knowing that is probably not going to happen putting oil into the spark plug holes and turning over by hand is acceptable. Just go slow and don't force anything. Then it is basicly a crap shoot as to how long it will last or if it will even start up.
