battery guage bounce from 14-10 and back

my battery guage will bounce for seemingly no reacon from 12 to about 10, all lights dim and then pop right back in under a half second, but it does it under load and in nutral, thurning or straight w/ and w/o throddle ect... and has done it since i got the car its rare like 1 out of 3 times i drive it (dd) but ive replace the battery, grounded it and even switched the engine (not for this reason though)
what do ya think?

Check to see the power connection on the back of the alternator is not loose.

The gauge should read over 14V normally, not 12V. Use a DMM to measure the battery voltage with the engine running to see if it's a bad gauge or a bigger problem.
