basic rotary aviation kit

how long can i expect the basic $530 rotary aviation rebuild kit to last in a car? i need a car to last one more year while i am in college before i can start the real deal modifications. i found a vert for sale that needs a rebuild, but the car needs to last until next summer. and also, will i need to buy anything else in order to get the car back in? thanks guys.

yes, i am a newbie.

I did my engine with the RA kit and it has lasted 6 months and 5k miles of driving it like the wankel it is. It pulls the same 16-18in. hg. at idle that it pulled after it was done breaking in.

The basic kit doesnt give you side seals, corner seals, or oil control rings, so if thoose are shot in the motor, youll need to buy them. It just depends whats wrong on the inside when you pop it.

how many miles on the motor now? that's gonna be the determining factor in how much of a "rebuild" you're gonna need (I'm assuming regular maintenance has been kept up)...BTW, I got the master overhaul kit from RA just 3 days after ordering it...that surprised me...

I used the basic kit from Rotary Aviation... I have almost 10k miles out of my motor. I boost 12-14 lbs on a regular basis. Every 3-5 minutes, I take the motor to or near 7k RPM. I'd have to say the motor's held up great so far for my first rebuild...

It has not died, that is how many so far. It is very young and has shown no signs of getting tired. I can't believe I rebuilt my own engine and took a dremel to its ports and it runs this well.
