ok so my 87 TII is banging out at redline...thats wat the old school chevy guys call it anyway, dunno if banging out is the same as detonation or pre ignition....hopefully yall kno wat im talking about when i say banging out, the exhaust note jst isnt smooth anymore jst makes kinda a gurgling sound or something....wat could be some causes of this???? please help me out cause i dont wanna hurt my engine...

 

it might just be missing a little bit. check the plugs.

Banging out is missing due to ignition weakness and/or valve float. You're probably just missing at high rpm. You don't have any valves to float.

 

ya im thinking its the plugs...there the ones that were in the jspec motor when i got it...and i kno for a fact that before i got it the guy poured like a quart of oil in each housing lol

 

Yeah.... I would change those plugs man.
