Ball joint help

HELP!

I just got married and bought a house and am itching to get my summer car back on the road. I know summer is already here, but I haven't had anytime to work on it.

My problem is it needs a balljoint BAD. What is the cheapest way to do a balljoint on a 1990 NA?

Thanks,
FASTRAKR

Go to the salvage yard, find a 1989-1991 RX-7, get the lower control arm from that side.

1986-88 cars have replaceable ball joints. If you can't find an 89-91, get BOTH lower control arms from an 86-88, and the swaybar and all hardware for the ends and swap them out. Then you have "upgraded" to replaceable ball joints.

p.s. then the balljoints are only about $51 each instead of the $300+ for a whole lower control arm new.

I had heard of that swap but was unsure of what all I needed.

I have priced out the parts here in ontario:

new lower control arm for 89-91=$500
used lower control arm either style=$100
new ball joint for 86-88=$200

Do I really need the sway bar and brackets?

Is there anything else I need to watch for?

New ball joint for an 86-88 is like 50 bucks..

It's the S5 that's expensive (since you have to replace the entire control arm)

Suspension is the same, but the end links attach differently S4 to S5
