Bad vibration when clutch is engauged
My girl vibrates really bad when the clutch is engaged and only then. as soon as I depress the petal it stops. the vibration reduces when I power off. You know the clutch is engauged but I'm not depressing the accelerator.
I have been noticing a squeeking noise when I go in reverse. then some clanking when going in some forward gears.
I can't remember if these cars have a carrier bearing or not. I am hoping it is either that or just the clutch.
I need to know whats wrong. I am driving a minivan until I figure it out.
Have you ever driven a minivan?

On a more serious note, it sounds like your throwout bearing is toast....
I suspect a bad U-jount.
To check, jack up a rear wheel, tranny in neutral.
Turn the tire back & forth. You should hear only the faint thump of differential & CV slack - no clanks or tinks from the driveshaft.
With a clunk - thunk here
and a tink - clank there

I am not seeing a TO bearing problem.
His sounds are happening with the clutch engaged, so the TO is unloaded..
Also I had exactly the same symptoms.
Here is what caused them:
The one on the left ran dry & started throwing rusty metal dust.

This is what trips me up. if it is the U joint, why does it not do it all the time? if it is the throw out bearing, why only when the clutch is engauged? I was wondering if I may have really skrewed my clutch disk and it is off ballance. I have seen it before, but the vibration is too strong. Could something be bent? like the input shaft in the tranny?
So No one metioned the carrier bearing. do they no have one? I can't remember. I have changed trannys on my other 7s, but not in a couple of years.

No, they don't have a carrier. Check the driveshaft, crawl under the car and put it in gear and see if you can turn it at all while it's in gear, if it moves even slightly, that's bad
When a U-joint is just starting to fail, it will sometimes take on torque in a lined up position and the shaft will run true. Sometimes it will push off center and vibrate.
You will usually hear the little "clink" sound just as you start out in 1st or reverse.
If that's it - go easy until you get it fixed.

Rockford Driveline Components www.rockforddriveline.com
Part #: 430-10
Mazda RX-7 84-91
The installation instructions are there also.
Or - get a fresh used or new shaft.
