Bad U-Jets i mean joints

OK so shop tells me its not replaceable. Question when i reverse i do get that little rattle. The car also rattles everytime i release my clutch while driving is it the ujoint behind this as well? ive searched and no one is really detailed about it. Also i might get a s5 parts car me and a buddy are gonna go half on it and its COMPLETE. Can i swap over the tranny and driveshaft/ujoints over to my s4 cause if so id rather save the money. Thanks.

Could be the U-joints when you let off the clutch, or bad mounts. And Rockford driveline sells u-joints and has instructions on how to replace them. I think rotorwiki.com also has a writeup on it too.

Get underneath, hold both parts of the driveshaft on either side of the u-joint and try to twist in opposite directions. If you detect any movement, the joint is bad.

Remove the driveshaft and find a shop which can cut off the old u-joint and weld on a replacement unit.
