Bad Tranny or clutch?

When I turn my car on theres a loud whirling and chattering noise in my transmission.

The car shifts into all gears fine. It moves in gears 1-4 but in 5th and reverse it doesnt move at all. The RPM just climbs higher with no movement in 5th and reverse.

Bad transmission. The whirring sound is your throwout bearing.

Another note is that...I dont have to push the clutch to get into gear 5 or reverse.

What does that mean?

replacing the throwout bearing will solve your whirrling problem...the other is probably the shift forks. check the tranny bolts to make sure its not loose though.

Oh and get a FSM!!!

You need a new transmission. Pick up a used one in good condition or get it rebuilt.
