Bad Throttle Body??

My throttle has been sticking a little lately. So I took off my intercooler and tried to install a spring that would snap the throttle plates closed when i let off the gas. I removed the hose at the top of the throttle body and some gunk filled coolant literally oozed out of the hose. I looked through the nipple that the hose was on and the coolant was thick with all this brown residue.
My car has been overheating a lot lately and my guess is that it's partly because of the poor circulation through the throttle body. Should it just be replaced or should it be taken out, cleaned, and readjusted?

Take your TB off and clean it. Is this a T2 tb? Do the tb mod and you'll be fine.

You shouldn't need any helper springs on the TB unless one of the springs has broken, which seems very unlikely. The stock springs are very strong. Make sure the throttles and linkages are thoroughly clean but don't spray it with lots of lubricant and leave it on. Wipe it off completely. The TB is designed to run dry; any sticky residue will attract dirt and you'll have the same problem again.

All of the coolant hoses in this circuit should be checked and cleaned out too. Follow the path from the engine to the TB, through the BAC valve and back to the water pump.

Just clean it out until you can run water though it that comes out clear.

Nope, it'll have nothing to do with it as it won't be preventing coolant from flowing through the engine, just the TB. Look for the cause elsewhere.
