Bad MAP sensor reading?

S5 T2

My boost gauge is not having a great time, the highest reading I've seen it show is just about half way up but most of the times I've driven it recently it's barely gotten above 0
I want to ask if this is most likely caused by the MAP sensor going bad or if there are other causes for it, and if it can cause problems with leaning out as the ECU is using the same signal

you should tee in a boost gauge with the Map sensor, and see
