bad fuel pump?

I was driving my car yesterday and then it suddenly just started to hesitate. I barely made it up the hill and then I pulled over...I let it run and did not notice anything out of place under the hood so I thought that whatever it was, was healed by the self healing powers that most rx7 have. About a mile down the road it died...I tried several times to start it and after a few(ok- like 20) it did. It acted JUST like I ran out of gas( I did that a lot when I was a teenager so I am somewhat of a expert at it). It would slowly come up to reg idle but if you steped on the gas it wantd to die...so I let id idle for a few minutes and all was good. Then today it did the same thing..it acts like it is not getting any fuel-or enough...What do you guys think,,fuel pump going out? I have a new one here so I guess I will install that ASAP! I do have to say that she got me home tonight...she always does

Jumper the fuel pump connector in the engine bay and turn the key on. You can see if pump is operating, and also if you have a gauge check pressure, and also hold pressure after key off. Check air intake system for any loose clamps, broken hoses etc.
