Bad Electrical Problem. HELP!!!

I was under the hood this afternoon adjusting the cruise control cable and finished. Put all the hoses back on and went to start up. The car clicked, then went completely dead. No dash lights, no overhead lights - nothing.

So I started wiggling wires under the hood thinking I disconnected something. I checked every connection I could see and everything looked good. When I looked up, I had a dome light...

o.k. kewl.

Tried to crank it and as soon as I put the key to the start position it clicked and everything went dead again... only to reset in about 10 min with me furiously checking connections and fuses.

What the HELL is going on and where should I start tracing? The battery is brand new and tested good. I didn't feel any heat coming from any connectors... ugh... dammit!

My car hates me.

Any ideas? Please? HELP!!

Mine is doing the same thing. Im starting testing wires tomorrow. Does it just click once and not turn over? Thats what mine does. If I figure it out easily I will let you know. Do the same if you come up with anything. Good luck

Damn, damn, damn. It's the easy **** that gets ya.

Grizzly, you nailed it. I went out there, opened the driver's door, popped the hood, and tried turning one of the battery cables on the battery itself.....something I had not done before. Before, I checked the connection to the starter.

It turned easily by hand.. and lo and behold, on came my dash lights.

So - new battery terminals for me tomorrow. Thanks man. I was panic'd...

Jim

live4boost: If yours does what mine did, there's your answer. Even if you THINK they're good, check again. Regardless, good luck to you. PM me and let me know what your fix was!
