Bad compression on engine witch is in desperate need for servive

Hi.

I have a S5 Turbo that has been standing for a long time, and is in need of a full service. I checked the compression on it today. It came out right over 70 PSI.

Can the low result have something to do that the car has been standing for a long time, and the oil is old? Or do i just need a overhaul?

How long has it been since it ran? Is the engine out of the car? If so, take a look through the exhaust ports - what does it look like. With that said, you can never bee too sure. I'd open it up and measure up seals and housings and inspect everything (or have someone do it). You don't want the engine messing up and giving the turbo something to eat.

The car had been standing for ca 2 years, before i bought it, and drove it home. Then the car has been standing for about 3 months. I have been running it for 5 mins before the test to warm it up.
