ok so my brakes are not right. car is an 87 gxl and my rear brakes are stoping harder than my fronts. if i really jam on the brakes i can feel the car stopping but my rears lock up but not the fronts EVER! and my petal travel is very long just to get teh car to begin braking. whats up?

 

Well it could be a number of problems; sticking pistons in the caliper, but since you mentioned long pedal travel I would say that there is air in the lines and it needs to be bled out. It shows how to do this in the FSM. Good luck.

 

na the lines have been bled and bled and bled but stil the same problem percist. could the distince between the petal and the mc input be set wrong?

 

could be the brake booster as well...

any leaky brake lines?

by long pedal travel do you mean:
1) the pedal goes a long ways before it gets really hard
2) the pedal gets sort of hard up high and if I stand on it, it sinks down really far

 

takes a long way before becoming hard is what i ment. hadent even thought of the booster
