Bad Alternator?
OK so my battery is dead...we jumpstart it, it runs fine, then we take the car out just around the block and it dies...does it sound like a bad alternator? or what else could it be?
I would say bat alt.
Mine did that as well. I could jump start it all the time but once I drove it and turned the car off I couldn't start it again without jumping it.
Fuel pump wouldn't have anything to do with a dead battery. It could be the problem for why it dies when going just around the block unless you Alt is bad and your battery is bad then you have nothing for the car to run off of.
I would take the alt to autozone or somewhere like that and have it tested. That would get you a definite answer.

If it's your alternator while driving all your idiot lights should come on. (That's what happened to mine) It might be your battery since like you said it was dead. Fuel pump....no clue :S Take your battery in to see if thats it. Kragen tests batterys right?
I could still be your alternator even if the light doesn't com eon in the dash. Mine died and I never got the idiot light but the light passed all my tests.
I would do as Phatomhp suggests and take the alternator in for testing at Autozone. I don't believe they charge for the service and I think they may be able to do a quick test on your fuel pump if it still concerns you, but it definatly sounds electrically related.
