Back seat shoulder belt ideas!?

I want to install child car seats in the back of my S5 but they don't fit well, even without the rear seat cushions installed. It would be better to just put the kids in the actual rear seat cushions (there about the right size anyways) but then there are only lapbelts. Does anyone know if there are small 5 point harnesses available anywhere and how could I install them?

Thanks for all your ideas,
Chris

I am really going to try and drive the car more than 800 miles this year.

LoL....I feel your pain man. Our car originally didnt have the rear seat. We bought one from a junk yard in GA I think and had it shipped. What a pain in the ***. Not only did they not send all the stuff we needed...they STILL didnt the with the second shipment! Anywhos...we got it in but the only carseat we could fit in there was a rear facing infant seat. When my son outgrew that, we had to get another car because all upright front facing car seats were too big.

As far as the shoulder belts go...Im not sure. I dont even know where you would hook them up.

Have you done a search in www.google.com to see if anyone else has done this?

What about using a front facing booster type car seat with a built in harness and just triming off the front ledge?

There still wasnt enough room for my son's legs or my wife would be up in the windshield. It was bad enough that the whole time he was in the rear facing she had to have her seat all the moved foward and on the first (default) click back on the reclining part. It was so bad she couldnt even put the visor down without totally leaning out of the way.

It's just not meant to be a family car...thats all. Now...when the kids are a bit older, then it will come in handy, as they will be able to sit in the back seat without problem...until they get taller.

Even then, I want them to have a shoulder belt. We must not be the only people with this problem.
