Talking back on the road again

I just got my car back again. This is the second engine in three months. I got in a race with a C5 after I broke in my first new engine and the turbo let go on the intake side. Can we say no compression on the back rotor. The motor barely had 2000 miles on it. Anyway, I lost but the car is almost stock. We ran from 100 to 145 and he had a car length maybe a car length and a half before the engine let go. The amazing thing is that it made it all the way to the shop with alot of vibration at idle. I put in a 89-91 turbo in, removed the power steering to get it ready for the big intercooler, removed the air pump, put the dual alternator belt pulley on. It is starting to look uncongested under the hood. I am going to go with a Haltech next and get rid of the airflow meter. I wonder how much power the Haltech is good for on an almost stock motor. I know most people think that should be the last thing to add but I want to be able to adjust as I go. Anyway fellow rotor heads welcome me back and wish me luck. If this goes again, it will be parked for a long time. I am thinking about getting a little GTI for transportation.

Later,
DB
