back to my oil leak...

I replaced my oil pressure sender and I still get a couple drops of oil when my car sits. I check my oil and it's never low. I'm not sure where it is comming from but it touches something hot because I can smell burnt oil. I think it's kinda weird that I have a couple drops and also smell some burnt. What would be the next most common leaky area? From somewhere there is some oil on the arm circled in green. What is that rubber plug for in the red circle? Sometimes there is some oil of some kind on that too.

What about your oil cooler hoses? Is there any oil forward of the engine?

There was a drop sitting on the bolt that attaches a hose on the right lower side of the oil cooler facing the front of the car. But when it drops on the ground the oil spots are further back. Usually about where the oil pan/tranny are.

What about the metering oil pump area, on the right side of the engine, forward of the exhaust manifold?

That rubber plug is the inspection hole for the bell housing.

it looks to me like the oil is leaking from the passenger side of the engine, most likely the Oil Metering pump (OMP) is leaking and is running along the side of your engine.

What year is your car ?

The oil metering pump looks and feels dry all over, the oil pan does have oil on the upper part of it. the lower part seems to be more dry but then again I think I wipe it off when I'm under there. Here are a couple pics-not the greatest. BTW it's an 89 GXL with 58K orig miles.

Is it possible that oil is leaking around the oil pan gasket and air from the fan is blowing it all over my oil pan? Or is it more likely that it is comming from somewhere else...

Mine had the same problem, turned out the oil cooler line was leaking and the timing cover.
