i thought the rear defrosters could be used, but only when necessary. i think i heard excessive use is what caused bubbling. i'm not too sure, just quoting hear-say of something i think i might have heard.
and by excessive, i believe it was having them on after they were done doing there job (defogging/defrosting). i would ask someone [competent] at a tinting place. and maybe have them do it so it does't look like booboo.

:: "Rear windows with a double curve must be installed in sections which accounts for the small seam lines which are barely noticeable. Some cars have rear window defoggers. These lines will not affect the tint since they only heat up 70-80degrees F when in use and the tint is good to 200degrees F."

well you can have the rear defroster work after installing window tint. you just have to be careful not to cut the defroster lines in the windown if you dont one piece the back window.

My last FC(91) I took to the guy who does all of my tint work. And he did the whole back window in one peice. You just have to shrink the film before you actually install it onto the window.

Oh yeah btw get the work done, dont attempt this yourself. also make sure you get a film with a metal in it, otherwise you will get fading and your back window will turn purple over the course of a few years.

Unless micky mouse installs the tint, then you can use the rear defrost just fine.

And you don't cut the tint on the inside and try and fit it. You lay the tint sheets out on the outside and trim and cut it there. Once trimmed and cut there, then you stick it to the inside.
