I built this code tester, from the instructions on an rx7 freeserver page, and no codes came up. Although, I tested my BAC, and when I measured across the contacts, I got not resistance. Any ideas? I think im going to take it apart and clean it. Is there any gasket behind it?

Tony......yes there is a gasket behind it.

One quick and easy way to tell if it is fried is to run power to it from the battery and see if you hear it click open....then click shut when you remove the power. This is what the shop manual says to do to it as well as checking for ohms of resistance across the 2 terminals. It should be 10.7 - 12.3 ohms of resistance. You're getting nothing??? Are you sure you have the meter on the correct setting?

If you have an 87 TII you won't get a code for the BAC valve because Mazda didn't put one in!

I get 0 resistance. The mutltimeter has 2 Ohm settings, and I tried it on both. Both times the needle flew past 0. I guess ill build a jumper wire....
