BAC or ECU short?

I need help with my BAC Valve. First the connector of the BAC valve broke from my harness so I was left with only the two pins of the connector. After Resoldering them I think I mixed the negative and positive leads to my BAC valve. Did I short it?

Also in the many attempts to get my BAC valve working an exposed end of the Positive wire touched the BAC valve when my engine was on causing my car to shut off. Bad?

After searching I think I fried the part on my ECU mentioned in the FC3Spro.com idle page. I bought a new BAC valve from Fast Freddy’s they say it works but it doesn’t click when I plug it in and turn the ignition to the “ON” position. and My idle doesnt drop when i unplug the BAC but just stays the same.

If you guys can help me that would be great. Right now im runing without it and have an idle of ~500-600, but I still have my A/C system intact so yea…

Thanx

Remove the bac. Leave the plug on. Turn the key to ON. Look and see/feel if the diaphram is vibrating. NO? Then the transistor in the ECU is kaput. If series four, then replace the transistor per the article you read.

If does not matter which wire goes where as long as they are making contact with the bac pins.

Radio Shack has that transistor for about a buck fifty. The part number is found in the aritcle mentioned in the thread. The originaltor of the thread might give you the url to the thread.

You might remove the elec plug and take a look at the contacts inside. Sometimes they will not lock in and are shoved back. IF shoved back, then shove them to the end of the plug and see if they will lock in. IF not take the articles advice and try epoxy to make them stay put. Not on the face of the contact, of course.
