Bönez 2.5" Race Pipe question

Wondering how loud the Bönez 2.5" Race Pipe is on a scale of 1-10. I have gutted cats with a corksport single exit exhaust on my 88 n/a right now and its fairly loud. I just want something so that I can tone the exhaust note down but still save some money cause when I do a T2 swap its all gonna have to go, yrs down the road though. And there are no emissions here. Thanks

10.

If you want to tone the exhaust down, switch your muffler or use a Borla XR-1 inline muffler.

I have the Race pipe with a Borla catback (the actual system, no custom). Id say its about a 5 or 6.

With the Corksport though, it might be ugly. I really cant see it being much louder than gutted cats since there is some silencing in the presilencer (You can see down the thing, the silencer is just an expantion with perferations similar to a glass pack, just steel.)

One muffler would be enough to bring it down from lets say gutted cats. How much would you think that might run for an exhaust shop to just weld in some pipe with the muffler? Summit has the Borla XR-1 for 134 which isn't bad.

Also, if the S4 version is $10 more. The only thing different is tap a 1/8" NPT hole and add a brass 90 fitting with thin copper tubing to retain the exhaust operated aux ports. From what I could tell, they opperated the same as before. (Did the grease test)

If I recall, isnt a new XR-1 more than the whole RP racepipe?? Mine was $160.

edit: opps, didnt see the price. But I would think buying flanges, geting the pipe bent, and having everything welded would cost more.

Hmm ya I know corksport is quite loud. I have the insert to silence it down but I want to be able to leave that out since I think its killing my performance. As long as its a little quieter than gutted cats cause that is loud.

Maybe if someone has a sound clip of the racing pipe on there system?

I am turning this into a daily driver once the engine is rebuilt thats why I need it so I don't loose my mind.

I had the bonez race pipe hooked up to my apexi n1. It's loud, but not a 10. It's more of an 8, but it has a really deep tone that sounds nice. In lower gears it has a nice deep growl. As you step on the gas, it gets louder, but like I said it's deep, so it sounds good.
