You've just contradicted yourself. Saying RWD will be able to put down its power much faster and easier" makes no sense. A 4WD car can accelerate out of a corner faster than a RWD car with similar power and weight purely because it can put the power down "faster and easier" due to the lack of (or reduced) wheels spin.
Plus dumping the clutch in an AWD wreaks much more havoc on the clutch and drivetrain than in a RWD.
That's because the tires are gripping instead of slipping. Damage to driveline components due to dumping the clutch is purely the driver's fault. If you drive the car with a bit of respect, it will be as reliable as a RWD one and still have far more grip under power.

Whoops didn't know what I was saying there.

I was referring to when people usually drag, because I know someone, a friend, that has an AWD DSM and the drivetrains in those cars are pretty weak and break easily especially when pushing large amounts of power through it.

This whole thread is pointless and shows real ignorance in here... for the guy that asked why dragsters and funny cars dont use awd, maybe because its not allowed.. turbos arent even allowed or any 4cyl...

Turbos? Not allowed? 4-cyl?

Sir, have you ever seen a NOPI event? Have you ever seen the Dodge/Mopar SRT-4 drag car? Not only is it turbo, but it is also a 4cylinder. And it is technically a funny car (altered wheelbase). Sir, before you spout and call people ignorant, review your thoughts before you claim they are true. If you feel like disbelieving my claim to the Mopar SRT-4 drag car, I will post pics and specs. (I'm not sure if it's still a 4-boinger, but I know it's turbo)

Has anybody thought of using hyrdaulic drive units, such as those Tractors and construction equipment use? They are remotely mounted, you just need to run the hyrdo line to them, and it would turn the front wheels, you'd of course have to attach the drive unit to the back of the tranny and shorten the driveshaft. I'm not sure how possible it is, I haven't really examined the front suspension for the possibility, but it seems like it could maybe be doable, just it wouldn't be cheap.
