avg. engine weight??

does anybody know the avg. engine weight of an s4 n/a? i might have to end up shipping an engine and i don't have big scale right off hand so i was just wondering if anybody might have an idea of what the estimated weight might be? atleast this way i could get a estimated quote

According to this: http://www.bacomatic.org/%7Edw/txt/engfyi.htm the S5 engine weighs 337lbs w/ oil and water. So figure about that, but it'll depend on what accesories are on it, what manifolds are on it, etc.

cool thats a starting point. thanx

btw it'll have no oil, water, power steering pump, ac compressor, and the rest is complety stock alt, smog pump, intakes etc. etc.

Is there any safe ways to shave weight from the engine block itself from the outside? just a question i thought i'd ask.

on my reciept for my shortblock it said 195. shortblock with front cover, oil pump, no flywheel. longblock should be around 350 i believe.
