AVCR speed signal

I’ve hooked the AVCR speed wire up to the recommended speed signal off the cruise control and it constantly fluctuates +/- 20km/h of the correct speed. This is on a 89 rx7. Did anyone else have this problem with the AVCR? How do I fix it?

cheers
B

Yeah, I have the exact same problem on my '88 Turbo with it hooked up to the cruise control output per Apexi's manual. That's WAY down on the list of things to do to the car - putting it back in one piece comes first .

I imagine it may be a flaky ground or something simple.

back from the dead... question on the wiring hook up.

the purple wire of the AVCR acording to the manual is both for injector signal and speed signal.

The manual indicates location of stock wiring for both injector and speed signal.

which wire do i tap the purple wire into? speed or injecotr?

i put it on the secondary inj. signal since my safc grabs my rpm signal. i don't seem to have any prob's with the speen signal from the cruise. i guess since it's fluctuating , just tighten and clean your cruise control...

How is the AVC-R. I've been looking at controllers and havent heard anything from an un-biased source as to how well it works. Whats the deal, is this thing worth the money?

same problem with mine, speed fluctuates, i thought it might be cuz of the bigger rims, but i dunno how to fix it, I have to when I intall my motor into the GTUs.....also I have mine in the "OFF" setting due to boost creep up to 13.5 psi. Until I figure out how to avoid boost creep it will remain off.

Wow! Back from the death again. I am having the same problem, but on an FD. Anyone has any suggestions/solutions? I have check all the connections twice, even soldered the cables. One thing I noticed is that my cruise control doesn't work properly on anything over 60Km/H but my speedometer works perfectly.

Just an Idea.
Wouldn't using a Abs sensor on the front wheel give you speed?.That is,IF you disconnected the ABS already and just have the sensors sitting there doing nothing.

only reason you need the speed sensor is for gear judge and auto learn, which in itself doesn't really work that well anyways.

is it worth it modifying the car to get the signal to the AVCR? no.

I want to use gear judge for start duty for each gear. My car does have abs. Gonna try changing out the cluster. New speedo cable, replacement transmission, same issue. Thanks for the response.
