Ashtray is where I put my safc. It fits nearly perfectly and it's easy to route for the wiring back through the center console towards the ecu on the right.

 

what about if you have SAFC and AVC-R??

 

In my 91 TII I still have the stock stereo. I put that mounting bracking that came with the SAFC on it. And then wedged it in the space between the tape player and the passenger sound select unit. Not a bad place.
