i have a 1989 automatic convertible. just last night my transmission started acting weird. i dont have no problem switching from park,reverse,drive,sport,low gear when at a stand still. the problem is when switching from those 5positions the indicator on the dash stays at neutral. another problem is gears wont down shift when i floor it, even when i manually shift it to low gear. i checked the transmission fluid and its full. thanks in advance.

 

if the dash is still indicating Neutral the first place I would check is the inhibitor switch by the atx shifter.

When I get home tonight ill look at the fsm, there is a wiring diagram for it, showing which pins should be connected in what position on the inhibitor switch.
