automatic TII question

i found a 90 turbo II with automatic tranny in it for 900 buck locally, the first one i seen but the engine is blown and i have my old street ported turbo II engine that i had in my 1st gen and im planning to swap it in but i wana keep the auto tranny in the car because i wanna keep it a cruiser. my question is how much power can the turbo II automatic tranny can handle before start slipping? because my engine is making 250hp right now and im planning to put some more stuff in it after i do the swap. thanks

According to the standard features there was no stock t2 that had an automatic transmission....... must be a conversion or some weird person... byou think a manual can't cruise? Your left foot must be very very lazy my friend.

If that is the stock NA automatic transmission I would say that the only thing saving it from busting is the idea that the torque converter is losing your power. 250hp in an RX-7 is probably going to feel more and more like 200 with that kind of setup and all i can do is wonder why.

eh...there are no automatic turbos in north america. This is either an NA converted to turbo while keeping the NA drivetrain, or a turbo 5sp converted to automatic (highly unlikely, since the s5 electronic auto trans ecu and wiring wouldnt be present and would be hard to transplant).

Word has it that the turbo automatics are no different from the NA automatics in north america...the trannies look externally the same. We all know that the NA automatic trans barely holds up to the power and torque it's given, much less that of a stronger engine.

I doubt they have the same internals, as the auto FC's over here (all turbo) seem to hold up just fine.
