Automatic short block in Manual car.

Ok I searched some for this and couldnt find what I was looking for.

I know that the rear counterwieghts in the automatic motor are different than the manual ones. Is the front the same case. I just got a rebuilt s4Na motor from a S4 auto car(shortblock), and will be putting my flywheel, intakes, and other things in it. Just want to make sure while I have it out of the car. Ive heard that you can get a lightwieght flywheel and run the auto counter wieght, is this true, false somewhere in between.

Also to save a lil space. When I go to start this thing how should I go about doing it. Its a brand new rebuild that was never run and has been sitting for a while. Ive heard pull it around behind a truck while its in gear for a lil bit then start. Just get in it and turn the key and let it run for a while.

I know that you have to do breakin and everything, just looking for tips on first start up.

Stock 13B's with auto transmissions come with a rear counterweight + flex plate package back there.

Stock 13B's with manual transmissions come with a flywheel with integrated counterweight built into the flywheel itself - no, you cannot remove the counterweight from the flywheel.

Yes, the rear counterweight from an auto trans can be bolted up to almost any aftermarket (lightened) flywheel - you need the rear counterweight in most cases.

The auto trans motor will(?) have an extra bolt hole on the rear plate, since the starter bolts on backwards?
