automatic to manual

Hey All

I'm new to the rotary and import scene. I've been working on muscle cars with my Dad but thats about the extent of my knowledge. I just bought a 87 NA RX 7 with 126 KM on it and its a 3 speed automatic. How difficult is it to switch to a manual? What kind of price am I looking at? Any sites that show this conversion?

Thanks for any info

Jordan

Me and my friend just did this on his 86 auto (switching it to a TII drivetrain). We took the auto crossmember, then swapped the manual crossmember mounts onto the automatic crossmember. Then we jacked up the tranny to proper height. Got some aluminum "L" bar and drilled 4 holes in each one. With using the auto crossmember for the manual tranny the holes on the crossmember will be on the same plain as the mounts on the tunnel as where the manual crossmember will NOT. Thens it's pretty straight forward, you bolt the "L" bar up to the crossmember, then to the tunnel. Each side of the aluminum 9" long "L" bar was 1-1/2" wide.
