Auto Trans just went BOOM :(

You guys know how much it is to fix on the average?
I talked to Vosko and he said he doesnt think thats it...my car just hit 32,000 miles today on org. engine and all soo maybe its not.
But iw as going down a hill and put it into L so I dont have to break all the way down it and then at the bottom right to D and boom jerked alittle and went to first and just satyed there as it was floored and the rpm was at about 5 k just slipping like hell and going like 25 until I hit a light and then it just stalled and wont start. It will try to kick over but it will seem to be stoped by something....like something in the way...
I dunno well right now its on a lawn of someones house going to get it towed to i guess Itos tomorrow ....
So anyone please help!

That sounds exactly what happened to my auto tranny.
1 and 2 kinda of worked. But other than that it was toast.
Maybe o maybe the torque converter is shot instead? I don't know. But when my went it made this sound: WRRRRR CRACK! and I was like, "Now that is ****** broken."

"Now that is ****** broken."

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!!!!! Well put. Exactly what I said when my clutch would not grip, and I had to floor it to get to 20 mph. Bye, bye clutch.

But Flybye, my buddy's Formula does the same thing. He had to get a new auto tranny. Killed 3rd and 4th. Just crack, and it would pop out of gear. Just do a 5-speed conversion! 91 n/a's are so much more fun w/ a 5-speed! Trust me, I got one! Same color too. Very eerie!

But Im really pissed right now.
How much would it cost for the auto to get fixed and then a price for the 5 speed I really want to know!
I was going to do this swap but I was going to look for a t2 I am 17 though so maybe I should just get the stick because I dont have alot of money to fix ****.

well that depends if you do a rebuild or just get a rebuilt one and shove it in there. If you get it fixed , I'd say about 800. Because that like 600 for the tranny and 200 to put it in. That's ma guestament. Five speed might be about the same, in the sense that a manual tranny might be much less. but then you would have to get a wiring harness a clutch pedal assmbly, a clutch cylinder. and a clutch. so maybe a little more by about 200. But worth every penny. Especially if you get all the parts.
Call the shop and say, " I have all the parts. All I want you to do is put it in." Make sure you get a good rotorary shop though. and get all those stupid seals that go with it too. If your serrious about it now go to mazdatrix and look at what I mentioned.

Where did the boom come from? The engine bay, or under you? That should help us figure it out. Also, talk to a guy around here named "SonicRaT." He is just finishing up his auto to 5-speed swap. He did all by himself! Keep us posted. And $800 sounds right for a rebuilt tranny. You could eek by for a while w/ a used/not rebuilt one, but only as long as it takes to save up the $$ to get the rebuilt one!

Loosen the exhaust manifold, use a flashlight to look in through the exhaust ports, have someone manually turn the engine. Look to see if there are pieces of apex seals inside or anything else. Also check for bad scratches on the rotors. Sounds like a blown engine and a clogged tranny filter.

Sorry to hear about that! I bought my FC with what I thought was a flooded engine. It was blown

I've taken the motor and drivetrain out of my car (just swapped to an LSD today! -- took 7 hours ), and removing the tranny was quite simple. I'd say do it yourself if you want to swap to a 5 speed (I'm 17 as well, and there's no way i can afford to have someone else do it!).

I have a 130,000 mile 5-speed lying around, let me know if you need it!

Good luck!,
Manolis

Well i was going to sell it in Aug-Sept would only have like 40,000 miles on it and runs and looks perfect, for 6 Grand, Then buy a T2 with low miles.
But I need a car right now to get me through these few months so it depends what the prob is If I can get it fixed I will if i cant for some reason yes I will sell.
For less money but not sure how much ....really hoping its something small.
Im thinking maybe the injectors some how I dunno
And Piston Eater nice! lol See us little guys can do our own **** to!haha
