Auto Rx in a Rotary?

Hey there...I have done a lot of searching and come up with lots of info on Rx 7's. I just bought a 1988 RX 7 Vert with 120xxx miles for $1700.

I don't know how the previous owners treated it but it (engine) "sounds" like it is ok. How would I go about trying to "undo" any previous damage done (more than likely impossible...but...) by using the engine cleaner Auto RX or for that matter running Sea Foam before changing the oil. I will do whatever it takes to keep the engine running properly . Anything else to prolong engine life?

I am going to do my best to learn the rotary design. I am a Mobil 1 user, but according to the FAQ's I should stay away from synthetics- how about Mobil 5000? If you have any advice, I welcome it.

Thanks!

Just stay away from synthetics unless your premixing, otherwise most users on here prefer Castrol GTX 20W-50, but that mobil one oil should be just fine as long as its not synthetic.

Mobil 1 is a synthetic...The 5000 is their "top of the line" dino oil with cleaning agents. The 5000 should be fine. How about the Auto Rx treatment?

Run a good, quality gasoline (with detergents).
If you want, you can run Redline FI cleaner or Chevron Techtron (in the small plastic bottle).

Run some premix for added protection - like 2oz to 4oz per gallon.

Rev the crap out of it to redline.
I don't mean HOLD it at redline.
Allow the engine to rev to redline repeatedly.

Enjoy.
