only thing you need from the tranny is the reverse lights, and to jumper the neutral safetey swtch terminals so you can start your car.
EDIT:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=201102
tells exactly how the wiring should go. I followed that for the wiring and everything works perfect

i followed the directions but obviously did something wrong....the car wont start....https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...threadid=201102 is what i followed its a 90 gxl....when i turn the key the car sounds like it wants to start but wont....my battery just died from trying to many times and i am afraid my starter is going to go so i dont want to keep playing around with lil things...

when the key is turned the engine almost sounds like its not getting gas....it just needs that lil kick....i know that isnt the problem though cuz it worked fine before

Double check all your re-wiring. Also make sure the "Engine" fuse in the drivers kickpanel isn't blown.

Starts are genealy strong.. unless you drop it like i did my old one... that hard *** smack can kill them.

If the starter turns, then your tranny wiring is completely fine, and you've other problems. After my 5spd swap, I couldnt get her to run bellow 4krpm. I had to rehash everything, take it down to bareblock and put everything back together with copper-ultra=gasket-copper-ultra sandwich... Now i've got a very low 250rpm... hard to drive like that...
