read the how to, it covers it. Its actually pretty damn simple. Its been over a year since I did it though, and can't remember exactly. It takes like 30 seconds to do though, at least doing it the way i did...

California... damn you people's cars have clean underbodies

the how to doesnt relaly explain it... "connect the bottom 2 wires and the top to 12v" or something like that

which is top, which is bottom... which wire

also i kno on my last fc you had to have the clutch all the way down for it to turn over so
i think it can be the clutch pos. sensor check and see if that would matter maybe try to hot wire the starter

..its an n/a transmission, he doesn't need the custom driveshaft...

Mazdatrix sells the custom driveshaft that goes from an TII transmission to a N/A Differential...

The STOCK N/A 5spd driveshaft will work fine, infact the Mazdatrix driveshaft won't work in this case.

wrong... or at least not in every case. I can start my car without the clutch depressed. Why? Because I didn't bother with the clutch failsafe. I've never had a problem starting and lurching through the garage door...

actually, after my swap, the engine was tilted farther backward... make sure the bellhousing to engine bolts are tight all the way around

Step 5: Reverse Lights and Neutral Safety Switch
Locate the two red wires on the manual transmission, keep them in mind.
Look for a white three pronged clip that used to plug into the automatic transmission, cut all three wires and connect the bottom two together "this will allow you to start the vehicle" and connect the top of the three to one of the red wires on the manual transmission "doesnt matter which one, you will need to add some wire to complete the connection".
Now take the other red wire and run it into the inside of the vehicle through the shifter hole " you will need to add soem wire to complete the connection" locate the wiring harness in the shifter area that used to connect to the automatic shifter assembly.
Locate the 4 pin clip, now locate the black with yellow stripe wire and attach it to the wire you ran inside the car from the transmission "this will allow your revers lights to work".
this is what i mean

which part is "top" and which part is the "bottom"

IIRC it wasn't hard to tell the difference in the wires. The two you run together are similar and the third is slightly different...
