attn: convertible owners w/stereo mods!
I started modifying my stereo system this weekend (all Boston Acoustics speakers, Sony head unit, Alphasonik EQ, and a 4 channel 400W Alpine amp so far), and I'm going to add a single 12" sub. My question is: have any of you mounted a sub IN the spare tire cover, like behind the driver's seat?? There is room there (even with the top down), and I think there is enough space under there to create a good "cabinet", provided it's lined with something. I'm just wondering if anyone has done that before? That keeps the sound inside, rather than a sub firing way back in the trunk. Just a thought! I'd like to keep room for golf clubs yet in the trunk and keep my weight balance as much as possible.
I need some boom.

I have many pictures of what I've done on my site for my 1991 convertible. It sounds like you are trying to do something similar to what I have done.
