IL att.2nd gen rx7 owners!

Hi there im jason -and im real close to buying a 88 turbo 2--the thing is i dont want the drivetrain --its a stage 3 atkins rotory with bolt on up grades and it comes with another turbo and timer and other stuff ---also has ruff wheels 19x9.5 rear and 19x9 front ---all of this stuff id like to sell but i will only sell these parts to a person that can pick them up (I WILL NOT SHIP THEM )you can drive the car and hear it run before i pull the drivetrain ----im buying this car for the sole reason to put my 462 big block chevy in it and muncie 4 speed ---so if anyone is interested in these parts and lives in the il.-iowa quad cities area -get back with me -i am told that the motor has 7,000 miles on it and as you know they are not cheap to build so if you do want to buy it bring what ever you need to check it out cause if i pull it ---you will have to pay down on it before it comes out!--all i want is to get back to a reasonable investment in the body ---thanks jason

It'd make more sense to just buy a roller for $400-$1000 than deal with parting the drivetrain out. And it'd also make more sense to make a classified post in the classified section.

+1, if you are not willing to ship its a huge longshot that anyone will pick it up.

I would be willing to come pick everything up for $1.

dude pick up a shell.. a Cheap NA or something. why ruin a TII? Good running real TIIs can be kind of hard to find, esp you just want to put a V8 in it, i say go get a different car that is more fitting for it.. Picking up a rotary car and seeing its unique motor ripped out for a v8 can be a lil discomforting in my opinion.

Ya skip that car and buy a shell without an engine. No one is going to want to come pick it up unless maybe you find someone who lives next door AND is looking for an engine. Try the forum classified section next time if you do get something here. I should also mention that the small block LS1 is more popular. The V8 forum section tries to BS that having a heavy nose doesn't matter but every single car maker including Chevy knows that isn't true. That's why they make the LS1 as light as they could and then in the Z06 they moved the tranny as far back as possible to help balance things even more.

^^^Correct. V8 swap into a good TII shell is BLASPHEMY!! and just plain annoying at the least.

Go get a pick up shell like a chevy pick up or somethin and use that.

you want it because of the body?

you might as well get a muscle car and put the engine in that.

Clearly someone wasn't trying very hard at all.

When you can beat this one I will be impressed.

i hate when people ruin a good rx7 for a v8, man size does not matter there are tons of 1.3's on here that will make your 7.0 look like a bitch. so dont hate on a rotary just because you dont know how to work on them

I have a pristine vert that I am widebodying and putting an ls1. I also have an NA that I just turbo swapped and building as well. I say pass on the t2 and find a nice shell. I just had a beautiful shell I was selling for $200 bucks and nobody bought. Sent it off to the junk yard.

again it just a car people -and its hard to find a really nice one -but i have taken what you guys have said with a grain of salt-my kind whats that???--so have you seen a car on here lately that has a ls1 and i wont say who --that has a willwood clutch master cylinder mounted sideways?-i made the adapter for mine out of a .500 thick pc of aluminum it works great -the holes are offsett enough to have 2 sets of holes in it(one to bolt to firewall and one set of holes to make the master straight-also made a main fuse block relocater for the fender to clear the p.s. pump --sold the car to my brother --327 m-21 muncie 4 speed 3.90 rear (it was an auto car)

boat anchor engines? dude gtfo. idk who you think you are coming onto a car forum devoted to rotary cars and trash on our motors...
your 462 big block puts out 464 hp? so ******* what so 464 hp out of a 7L compared to 220 from a 1.3L... your big block is a pretty inefficient motor if you ask me.
and you talk about wanting the handling of a rx but you are gonna throw in something that weighs a holy crap ton more and still expect to retain that kind of handling? get real, if anything do an ls swap bc those are all aluminum and are close in weight.

and sorry if a lot of you guys on here are purists (live a little)and the working on the rotory engines thing ---not!!! im a die hard gearhead and more power to the guys who like the stock engine but no thanks ---the only thing that got really out of hand on the last one was the fact that the muncie shifter location is way off the stock mazda -so made a a new plate out of 1/4 6061 and flattened out the the angle in the corner of the heat radio area(needless to say the shifter is 8 inches forward and i had to heat wrench the shifter back another 3 inches so i didnt slam my knuckels into the aluminium-i should just go to the other engines thread i guess

they still handle good even with the v-8 already had one take corners at 90---sold that one to fund this one---the overdrive is going to be a problem i think -the floor narrows up a bit and i would have to get past the seat area (not a good place to modify the floor!)so can have killer gears with the muncie and overdrive with the gear vendors overdrive -and i want to keep the i.r.s. -changing that WOULD ruin the handling for sure!-brace front and rear strut towers and get a cage i can still get in the car with

and the ride height --ive already came up with a solve for that -im going to machine a block that fits under the wheel well that bolts on the strut with a counterbored hole to take the original studs on the strut and drill and tap another set in a clocked position to bolt them back to the tower(i have 3 mills 3 lathes a surface grinder and plenty of other welders machines and im 20 year machinist)---stunt man mike the car ya know

Wait...I'm so confused.

You put a for sale thread in a tech location, making multi-posts without quoting who you are replying to and generally not using the forums correctly, then start trashing rotary engines and the very people you are trying to sell to.....

Am I missing something???
