Atkins Sleeves, are they the bees knees?
Lo and behold I took my LIM (S4, NA) off this weekend to free up my stuck 6PI. I was hoping to gain all the horsepower and be able to pass modern cars on the interstate. The rods in the manifold were seized as seized could be. But when I tried to clean the sleeves I discovered there were none! Previous Owner strikes again!
Having no Sleeves to start with, are the Atkins worth the extra coin over some used stock sleeves?

is 1-2 horsepower worth $95 to you? only you can answer that.
if you got the extra cash to burn, may as well. if you're tight on money and it's going to make you eat top ramen for a few more weeks, i'd say pass.

If the sleeves were missing, then adding them in won't give you any more top end passing power.
But at low rpm, you might feel a bit more torque.
And when closed, the Atkins or stock sleeves do the same thing.
Bottom line: install stock sleeves.
