ATF on a 1st gen.?

Is it any different to perform the ATF trick on 1st gen than on a 2nd? My buddy has a GSL-SE and was wondering.

Its essentialy the same for an -SE and 2nd gen.
The non -SE 1st gens are easier, however. You only have to pour ATF down the carb instead of through the spark plug journals.

That tends to gum up the carb unless you shoot some carb cleaner down it afterwards.

I should read a bit more carefully.
