assembly procedure

i have been a member of the forums for a while now and havent posted anything because i wanted to take my time... a couple weeks and search every question on here that i may have. so far i still have a couple questions. i have searched for threads on ignition timing which i would presume is controlled by the ecu... but how can you control timing in respect to boost levels and detonation? advance and retard and is there a set ratio? im looking to produce about 400 hp by the time im done but on the stock s4 turbo i think im limited to 12psi? safely which is a start point but am interested in the different levels of porting... where should one end and another method of porting start(at what level)? and finally is there any good how-tos on disassembly and reassembly with pictures or exploded views? i think i saw a good thread on it from aaron cake on his rebuild, but cant find it again.

i have a compossed parts list from this forums but want some more detail on my project ahead.

any direction you may point me is a help

Standalone EMS. Controlling fuel and timing as a reaction to detonation is a sure way to kill the engine. You need to set fuel and timing to avoid detonation.

You'll never make 400 HP on the stock turbo.

safely which is a start point but am interested in the different levels of porting... where should one end and another method of porting start(at what level)?
Street port.
