Apexi N1 vs. N1 style

Is there a difference between them? I can get a Apexi N1 style muffler for about $75 US right now instead of the $450 N1's or so that places like the RX-7store sell. What I would like to know is if there is any actual difference between the two and maybe some feedback from people with this N1 style type of muffler.

well, there's a difference between the N1 MUFFLER and the N1 CAT-BACK (which from the prices you have shown, is probably the difference between the 2)

I have a Racing A stainless steel N1 spec muffler. Same dimensions as the Apex N1. Only difference, because it is a custom job, it dosen't have that trademark angle that the Apex unit has, it just sticks out straight.

Yeah, I can understand that, but I doubt they are charging $300 for a pipe that I can get my local shop to do for cheap.

It depends on the manufacturer of the N1 style muffler..

Have a brand in mind?

And a Apexi N1 goes for ~200 retaill so you are getting about a $100 discount from that.

If it is all SS construction then it should be fine..

Looks pretty nice.. I would kinda be worried about what it is packed with.. Probably glass.. so it will melt out in about a year.. but you should check on it..

Also notice the inlet is only 2.5 so for the turbo guys, your 3" exhaust won't work.

Except for the "Racing A" embossed on the side, it is a dead match for the N1. I even get folks who ask me if it is an Apex unit. And I saved a couple hundred

Not sure. It looks just like the Apex, so I assume it is filled w/ whatever it is.

I have 2 of those N1 style mufflers from that same seller on eBay. I installed them on my vert last weekend and I really love them. They aren't as large as the A'PEXi N1's which I like, as the vert is a street car and I don't like too much attention from the local law. They come with the silencer and it REALLY makes it alot quieter. They are LOUD when they are run open. I have a stock manifold and a double cat Bonez system on it now. I have a 2.5" SS y-pipe from the cats to the dual N1 style mufflers. I also chose to have mine stick out straight. I like the angle of the single, but I thought it looked stupid with 2 coming out at the angle. I will take a few pics later and show you all what they look like. They fit the bumper and the car really well.
