APEXi N1 Dual Exhaust Fit on 91 TurboII

I just installed an APEXi N1 Dual Exhaust on my 91 RX-7 Turbo II and don't really like the look. The tips are larger than I expected (115 mm), but I otherwise find the exhaust itself nice looking. What I don't like is the way that it fits on my car. The exhaust canisters don't fit into the space allocated for the original mufflers; so, they hang low and are completely visible from the sides. Looks as though I strapped two bazookas onto the back of my car. While some may actually like this look, I personally find it a bit too "pimped out".

I'm not an expert on exhausts, but I understand that the APEXi N1 is a really choice - performance-wise - for my car.

My question is: should the exhaust hang low and be completely visible from the sides? Or, should it be more integrated into the body? If not, should I consider modifying the exhaust so that it looks more discrete?

get new rubber hangers! it will hang higher, if not try to bend the metal hangers until you have the desired look.

For new hangers, Mazdatrix and your local exhaust shops will have some too.

Yes, it is supposed to hang that low - the exhaust is supposed to mount with the mufflers at an angle. This design keeps the pipe pretty straight at the muffler inlet, but most people go for the dual N1's for style.
