Anything in the exhaust manifold?

Long story short. I had been putting MMO in my engine to try to start it after the rebuild. Found out the CAS had moved when I put it in so timing was way off. Got it fixed and car ran. Installed Haltech. Car starts right up but it smokes like a chimney. I'm talking I took off the exhaust and the presilencer was full of MMO. I turned the presilencer one way, and nothing comes out. I turn it the other way and the fluid is draining out. I guess there is cavities in there that only lead out one way. Is the stock exhaust manifold the same way? Is it a straight shot out or is there areas where fluid can collect? I want to know if i should take the exhaust manifold off or if the fluid by passes right through there.

Thanks,

The stock exhaust manifold is shaped like to orbs (exit for each rotor) connected at the center, then at the end of the second orb at a 90 degree angle is the outlet to your downpipe.

Its just an open chamber, fluid can pool at the bottom but it wont get trapped like with your pre-cat.

PS: Your pre-cat might have been clogged from the get go, you should be able to see through it (barely) at the right angle.

All it should look like is a screen, and a wire mesh.

I had an exhaust manifold that was full of coolent when an engine blew a coolent seal, so it is possible for it to collect.

I don't have a pre-cat, or a cat. Its a Racing Beat pre-silencer which is a straight 2 1/2" ID pipe and its brand new so its not clogged. Stevey Wonder can see through this thing. It does have the wire mesh in it. I was able to drain the fluid but I didn't have time to put the pipes back on before I went to work. Just wondering if I needed to take off the exhaust manifold too. From what you were saying, sounds like no fluid will really get trapped in there. Most of it must have been in the pre-silencer. I'll put it all back on and start her up when I get home.

Thanks
