Anyone Who Has Done A J Specswap
I HAVE A 87 T2 AND I AM TRYING TO PUT IN A 91 JSPEC .
i VE RIPE OUT ALL EMISSION AND SOME SENSORS . IVE MANAGED TO GET IT STARTED IT RAN IT FOR A WHILE IT RAN FINE BUT WHEN i GOT ON IT, I WOULD DIE OUT . I THEN REALIZE I LEFT THE HIGH IMP INJECTORS . I THEN PUT IN LOW IMP INJECTORS NOW I AM NOT GETTING GAS IN THE FRONT ROTORS AND IT RUNS LIKE **** . I AM SENDING MY INJECTORS TO GET CLEANED ON TUES. I GUESS MY ? IS WHAT SENSORS DO I NEED TO KEEP TO MAKE IT RUN RIGHT . i AM ALSO RUNNING MY 87 T2 ECU AND HARNESS

using a series 5 motor in a series 4 car, you just swap over any sensors (and the front cover) that the old series 4 motor had. So once you get your injectors cleaned, and timing set it sounds like you should be fine.
There's a little more to it than that. You have to get the new S5 ECU and wiring harness. I heard its pretty tough to rewire an S4 for an S5 engine. Plus you CANNOT use the S4 sensors on an S5 engine or on the S5 ECU. You WILL need ALL the S5 sensors, wires and ECU. S4 and S5 are not compatible

If he has swapped over all the external parts (which it sounds like he has done) there is no need to use the S5 ECU.
if there is no need to use the S5 ECU there is no need to use the S5 sensors.
he is not trying to make a NA car into a T2... he is just trying to get a S5 13BT block to work in a S4 with the S4 13BT stuff.

S4 sensors will not work on an S5 harness (connectors are different in most cases)
However, there's nothing to stop you from using S4 sensors in the S5 block, with the S4 harness and ECU.
That's precisely my setup on the FC.
