anyone tell me what this part is for?

ok guys--I have an 86 GXL that is all stock. A couple weeks ago I removed my BAC for cleaning, and I noticed that there is a connector right under it.....it looks like there are supposed to be two wires plugged into it, but nothing is plugged into it on mine. All I can see is the two blades sticking out that the plug goes onto. Anyone tell me what is supposed to hook onto that? I am in the process of running new grounds and just want to make sure that everything is where is should be.

I think that is the intake temp sensor. there should be a two wire connector for it.

Thatks--will hafta look around in there for it....will this cause any problems if not connected? the car runs great, but the idle is a bit rough. I just wanna get it running as good as possible before I start with any mods.

I agree with 1987RX7guy. This sounds like the air intake sensor. The plug is a small white one. It's probably flopping around behind the oil filter.
