I run the Vert BBS wheels on my GXL. There is no need for spacers.

I run the stock size tire 205/60R15 on them, mainly for weight and the added tire height also dampens my harsh suspension on the street.

If you're looking to go for a wider tire, you may use late 90's to early 2000's Mustang GT wheels.
I run 225/50R16 R compound tires all around on a set of 2002 Mustang GT wheels. Wheels of this type and vintage are cheap on CraigsList. They have the proper offset to allow you to run a wider tire without rubbing.

They do also have a wider stance and sit more flush with the edge of the fenders. I suspect this is the look you're going for.

Hmmm. My post must been misleading. My car is a vert and has vert wheels. I just want to make the wheels more flush with the quarter. just try to push them out more so when its lowerd it looks better. Your last sentance hit the nail on the head. My tire size 215/60

I haven't tried it, but based on what I remember as far as wheel stud length on my vert and fender-tire clearance, I would assume you couldn't use more than a 12mm spacer.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

i know what your asking.. most of rx7club is completely null and void when it comes to wheel fitment. i have vert wheels for winter wheels on my fc, but i haven't bought spacers for them yet.

i'd estimate you should be able to fit like a 20mm on the back and a 10-15 in the front. depends on camber/ride height.

it's simple...

1. get a tape measure
2. measure the gap between the fender and the top of the tire
3. buy a spacer that size or a little smaller.

15mm front, 25mm rear should do the trick.

it will look like crap. If you lower the car you run the risk of rubbing unless you put your alignment out of whack, making the car look like ghetto crap.
If you want a more flush look get wider rims. skinny stock tires with spacers look just like that.... skinny stock tires with spacers.

I have done it... looks much better. I dont remember the size of the adaper though. i think it was 20mm...???

but dont use spacers unless you use longer wheel studs. I always use adapters. much easier and most of the time, safer.

That has nothing to do with what he asked dick.

I have 30mm 'adapters' on the back of my car. It sits a lot more flush, with plenty of room, so the risk or rubbing is zero. Sure, they are not vert wheels, but is should be similar.

The before pic in the same spot, you couldn't see the wheel.

p.s. my wheels are from a 91 coupe.

I have vert rims with 25mm spacers up front and 30mm in the rear. The rear is good but the front has occasional rubbing issues. I'm going to get some 20s soon and see if that will work. I'm running 225/50s on the stock bbs, maybe with narrower tires you could get away with the 25s up front?

Very glade you posted.

1. Wondered if you could smash 225 on the stock bbs's
2. perfect picture to understand the widths and "imagine" yoour own.

Im doing, 20mm rear with 215/60 tire but after seeing your post im re-thiking. 20mm with 225's

I am planning on running spacers with my stock vert BBS meshies, seems like the best way is 5-15mm up front and a 25mm in the rear, and I'll be using the stock size tire, 205/60-15s.
