anyone know whats wrong???

i have an 86 NA

i let my car sit in the driveway for about a month and a half straight without starting it. when i tried to start it the batt was dead, i replaced the batt and now instead of it cranking over normally, it cranks over way faster than it should.
-it has gas and it is getting spark but it wont start and the cranking speed sounds like it has been doubled.
my only idea is something with the CAS.

any help will be greatly appreciated,

maybe its cranking fast because theres little or no compression to resist the starter?? have you tried squirting in oil?, but not too much or you'll foul the plugs.

you said cranking speed... im just covering all by bases here...
(im not sure of your level of experience) -- its not a spinning sound is it?--- that would be a dead starter solenoid.
