Anyone know how Racing Beat was modifying the front spring cups to lower 3/4"?
I was looking for a way to get another 3/4" out of my ride height without coil overs or cutting the spring. I remember seeing racing beat mounts on the market that will lower 3/4".
http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1...ion/14000.html
On their site they sell a stiffer rubber mount and at the bottom it mentions that they can modify it to lower the car 3/4". So I imagine there is a way to do this, just not sure if it's DIY or not.
My mounts are in great shape (I have spares) and I would like to give this a go over the winter. If anyone has any insight, I'd like to hear it. Thanks!

Looking at the picture of their stiff mount and lowering mount it almost seems like they are crushing or somehow collapsing the mount 3/4".
If they are "modifiying" the stiffer mount I imagine they have to do it assembled as it doesn't seem like it would be possible to disassemble or that anything is cut or removed.

I highly doubt they are just "crushing" the mount 3/4". That doesn't even seem reasonable, as crushing it would most likely be detrimental to it's performance. My guess would be that they have created a mold to manufacture a shorter bushing on the mount.
I would bet that creating a top strut mount to lower you car is not a DIY modification. Buying and installing them... Yes.

Yeha, just looks like they just manufactured new ones with a different spec is all. Unless you want to wait until next year, I'm purchasing these when money becomes available again.

I just find it odd that they say they can do the stiffer mounts like this to, that's what made me think they were doing something to the mount as is. I'll pull apart my spare and take a look

nice link.
Racing beat said they can modify the competition mounts in 30 minutes. Said they are modifying the housing.
Unless they are using the stock rubber and have made a whole new housing....
I will admit, the pieces do look totally different.
I'll find out if they want to rework my low mileage pieces of my 10 AE
