They claim with a cool air box and cone or free flow intake panel, and exhaust that you should get about 20HP more.

But the drawback is that it runs much richer (sucks mileage) and the timing is advanced requiring 92 octane for NA FCs.

I haven't personally tried them to see if it is what they claim. Just telling you what they claim.

I see them on ebay all the time. My guess is its a resistor used in the intake temp sending unit that slightly advances timing and af ratio. Learned the trick off my old 93 probe (ironicaly newer than my better 90 gtu but dont worry, the probe does have a maza engine for what its worth!)

That is differnt than what this thread is talking about. The Knightsports chip, replaces the main chip (or chips) inside the ECU. It is not a resistor addon.

I agree with icemark, however I would not buy one for 20$. I think knightsport sells them for ~300? The ones on ebay (for 20$) are a cheap rip off.

I ordered up one of those cheapo ebay knights sports knock offs the other day. I have some dyno time next month set aside and I am gonna try the chip in a spare ECU and see what it does.

I bought one off ebay a month ago for my turbo, but I still haven't got all the parts together so I don't know what it's like either.

Keep us posted on how it works

I bought one from Ebay also. I called the seller and hounded the **** out of them for the specs. I went to put the chip into my car and found that my ECU was blown. So I figured since the chip is actually for an Jspec N374 ECU I'll just buy a N374. So I got a hold of Turbonut cause he had one and pop it in without the chip. Now I dont know if I WANT to install the chip. I think the ECU might already have one in it. Or something anyways Cause the car boosts to 10 and I'm not gettin fuel cut. Hmmm. I think I'm gonna pull the ECU back out and dismantle it to see. If its the stock chip I'll put in the Knight sports one when I go to the dyno. Thats if Icemark doesnt beat me to it.

There have been a couple on ebay, one set for the N327/N332/N333 and one for the N374

I don't see how thiat would work. Leaner mixtures increase power; richer mixutres reduce power. Sounds very fishy to me. I've yet to read a positive review of plug-in chips.

Every one that I have gotten (and its been three different ones now) all are the wrong chip for a N327, N332, N333 etc.

Someone is selling the chips to Ebay venders and telling them that it works, but every single one I have seen or bought is wrong and not for any S4 ECU.

Don't waste your money, and it you get one, it won't work.

Lean is bad for the rotary engine, running lean may and probably will break your apex seals and **** up the housings and rotors real good too. The more gas you put in, the more boost you can add (working with the timming also of course).
