Anyone experienced with door locks?

Hey, I just took my driver side lock out (too me 2 hours to figure how to take it out ) and apparently some thingy was stuck in it.
Anyway I took it out and after much thinking I figured out how a door lock works.

The thing is, when I put the key in, the little teeth do not go in completely. I can puch the key down a little and they'll go in completely.
Is it gonna be ok when I put it back in the door or is it broken?

Thanks!

This thread: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=37703 and the answer by ASHERWOOD. If I could read and understand his explanation on how, anybody can. Thanks again to Asherwood.

Hey buddy, i think i experienced the same thing. There's a little door-latch thing on the front of your lock cylinder that prevents water from going inside the lock. Mine broke off and fell inside the lock cylinder and caused what you're explaining. Take a look inside for foreign objects.

Thanks!
I've been trying to mix them up since yesterday, and can only get the first 4 to work.
I think I'll go to the junkyard today. =)

Thanks!
