anyone ever seen a wing mounted strictly to the hatch lip?

...94% correct.

Just curious...my dog can't quite clear the wing when he jumps into the back of my car. A 95lb dog should not flip and twist that way.

I've always thought about how to pull that off if I ever stoop to the level of adding upper downforce modifiers to my car.
I'm still set on making a wing which functions within the "ground effect" (aviation use of the term) and somehow creates a vacuum between the wing and road. The venturi effect of the car and the breakup of the air at the rear would potentially crush my dreams of a functional lower wing, but there could be some hope for it to work.

I don't think any company makes them, and I don't think there'd be much interest if they did, most people would probably grab ahold of it to close the hatch and end up breaking it/rattling it loose/etc.

If you find those "erector set" wings attractive, you could always drill holes through the hatch glass, and mount the wing there.
I have no idea how strong the hatch would remain if small holes were drilled into it, but I can't imagine it weakening signifigantly.

uhh well if anything DO NOT DRILL the glass. it will more than likely just shatter as soon as you get through, and if not, it will be on the verge of it from then on....i shattered my rear hatch just trying to get my windshield wiper motor out.

think boys, the flat black wing on the "sport" is a simple lip that sits right on the hatch and comes back a couple inches. They happen to look really nice IMO I'd like to see one on an S5 (all painted) since they have no black rubstrips hehe
